Only Seven Years Old There has been proof that has emerged in the case against He Kexin, the Chinese gymnast that won the gold medal in Beijing. The gymnast has come under fire for her age as of late. Today, proof in the form of her mother claims she is only seven.
Her mother told the press in an interview that her daughter was only seven years old and that she should not have even been out of the house on the night she won gold. She claims to have grounded He the day before.
"I told her she was grounded and she just stormed out of the house. I didn't know where she was until she showed up on my television accepting the gold medal for China," said He's mom.
The controversy has been causing a stir
In a similar instance, Derek Jeter kicked a woman he met Thursday night out of bed after finding her drivers license while looking for a pen to write down his number. The ID said the woman was eleven, even though she told Jeter she was thirty seven.
As for He and the rest of her teammates, they may end up having to forfeit their gold medals. The IOC has made a statement that read, "If one more mother comes forward and admits her child is not sixteen, we will strip them of their gold medals."
